Some pictures...

Thanksgiving 2007 - Jenna n June  This was taken Thanksgiving Day a month ago with Jenna King, who I went out to dinner with along with her husband and 9 other people!   This was a nice time - all of the people who ate together had all moved to Florida within the last year!  (see - me wearing tank top ON Thanksgiving day - a rarity eh?  Not if you're in Florida!! )

Xmas Party 07 - June Taken at the company Christmas party on December 15, 2007.  The day before I had accepted a promotion to become the new Assistant Director of Sales Operations for CSDVRS!  I got a lot of compliments on this dress - so I thought I'd post it up here.

Just too cute...

I love dogs.  No, I don't have one of my own, not yet.  I'm not ready.  But I do enjoy being around dogs, especially my close friends' dogs (and dog sitting for them).  I have 5 dogs that know me pretty well, unfortunately I only have pictures of 3 out of 5 so far.

Those dogs in the pictures are sleeping - and I thought they were just too damn cute not to share!

Just too cute, aren't they - now you understand why I just HAD to share?  *grins*

Happy Halloween to y'all tomorrow!

Til next time!

Super September - Okay October

Today I'm going to talk about what I've done for the last two months (September was Super, and October so far has been Okay - hence the title)

As you all know, from my last post, I was in New Jersey for a long weekend to see two Blue Jays and Yankees games at Yankee Stadium.  I have pictures from the trip, as you can see below, my friend and I took 121 pictures over the entire weekend, and I chose a few to show y'all.

Views:

I admit, I'm not really fond of "landscape" pictures, I'm more of a "people in the pictures" type of person, but the first two pictures, I just liked so much and saved them.

View from Loge seating

This one is a view from Loge Seating at Yankee Stadium, this was from the afternoon game on Monday - that's why it's so SUNNY!

View from George Wash bridge

Just a fabulous view from the George Washington Bridge on the way to the game on Monday - we were speeding along and I just opened the passenger window and with my friend's camera, just caught this view!

What we did:

Tony n June Friday

My friend Tony and me at the game Friday night, this was when it was still close - the Jays leading 2-0 but this game ended up with us leading 4-0 at the end of the top 9th inning, but of course, those "damn" Yankees,  who are famous for their comebacks, mounted one and tied the game 4-4 at the bottom of the 9th.  It sent the game into extra innings, and Tony and I ended up watching the entire 14 innings and my Blue Jays ended up winning 5-4! however, I know Tony will want me to admit this - Even though I'm a die hard Blue Jay fan, I have to admit, I was impressed by the fans at Yankee Stadium.  Their spirit, the way they get into the game - just simply, "Wow" - it wasn't the same at Skydome (now named Rogers Stadium), never was, except their World Series runs in 1992 and 1993 maybe.

June in Times Square Sunday

Me in Times Square!

June at Ground Zero

Ground Zero.

June lost a bet - Yankee shirt

*cough cough*  I lost a bet with Tony so I had to wear this Yankee shirt to the game on Monday.  I know some of you out there will faint of shock, so... yes, I actually own a Yankee shirt now.  My Jays didn't do their jobs on Saturday or Sunday, losing to the Yankees therefore I had to wear this shirt, but the thing is, that very same day that I showed up to the game in this shirt, the Blue Jays evened up the series at 2-2 by winning that afternoon.

Now - October - you may wonder why September was Super and October is Okay - well - of course, September was Super because I had my vacation and got out of Clearwater.  October, well, October is a whole different story.

One night, late at night, some friends and co-workers from out of town came to Clearwater, and they were staying at this house near the beach, and I was visiting with them.  Some of them decided to check out the hot tub in the backyard.  I didn't have the appropriate clothes, so instead of joining them, I just stood on the wooden steps leading up to the hot tub and was so into conversation with one of my friends, and all of a sudden, I lost my balance and slipped.  Landed on my right wrist.   It was a bad fall and the pain was unbelievable.  I've fallen before, but it was never this bad.  Got my wrist x-rayed 3 days later, and got a clean bill of health (no fractures of any kind) just a bad sprain.   The swelling was horrible and the bruises was UGLY - big time.  I had to re-learn everything - as I'm a righty, so my motion had to be limited to only my left hand, and it was a challenge.  A week later, I was able to move my right wrist around without too much pain, but it still does come and go.  Then I had a cyst removed from my back last week,  which just goes to show you what an Okay October I've had so far.  I'm just glad the last day of October is approaching us so that I can face November and start calling it Nice November.

So that's what has been up with me - and now you all understand why I've been away from Xanga for so long because it would have taken me FOREVER to type this kind of entry with only one hand!

'til next time!!

Being on vacation is...

Heaven!

Just wanted to drop a short note to say that I'm still alive, and really enjoying my vacation!

More to come (especially pictures)!!  Day 4 of my vacation and we're going to New York City.  Already have pictures from the Bronx (well - that's where Yankee Stadium is).  Will be taking more pictures today - but where exactly in New York City will we be going?  Not sure exactly as I'm going to just let myself be led.  But there was aleady mention of Manhattan, so that's definitely one of the destinations.  And I'll be "experiencing" the train and the subway sytems of New York City as well so that'll be quite something.

And the Blue Jays BEAT the Yankees in 14 innings last Friday!!!  That was a game that we went to - and ohhhhhhh my goodness!  FOURTEEN innings?!?  The game started out to be a pitching duel between Roy "Doc" Halladay and their Chien Ming Wang, both pitchers in their prime, and sure enough it was scoreless all the way until the 7th inning when my Blue Jays finally struck first, scoring 2 runs against Wang in the top of the 7th, and then added on two more in the top of the 8th with a 2 run homerun.  We were coasting towards victory until the Yankees, after the Jays pulled Halladay off the mound, came back to score 4 runs to tie the game, but they failed to score a fifth one to secure their victory.  So, the game continued...

for another hour or so!  The game went back and forth with a lot of opportunities on the Yankee's part, a lot of opportunities that they couldn't cash in on.  Then the scoreless innings streak finally snapped with Zaun's solo homerun off Brian Bruney of the Yankees in the top of the 14th, that gave us the lead - 5-4 and we were able to shut down the Yankees on their bottom half of the 14th to take the game.

But as a Blue Jay fan AT Yankee Stadium, I have to admit, even though my team was their opponents, I have to say, I was impressed by the fans at the Stadium.  The environment, and their love for this team was amazing.  I could FEEL the fans screaming, banging, I could FEEL their disappointment when we struck first, I could FEEL their excitement when they came back to tie the game, I could SEE their disappointment when we scored that one run at the top of the 14th.  Even in light of all that, the fans never lost hope in their team.  The fans (especially the one that I was with...) believed that the Yankees would come back and either tie or win it.  Sure enough, they came back and tied it the first time.  But the second time, even though everyone was tired, they still believed that if the Yankees could overcome 4 runs at the bottom of the 9th when it really counted, then they could overcome just one run at the bottom of the 14th.  But yes, it was crushing that they didn't come back at the bottom of the 14th, but they took it pretty well, leaving the Stadium in silence.

Yesterday's game - which we didn't go to - but watched on TV - was just as interesting.  It went into extra innings AGAIN, after a jadzillion lead changes.  But this time it only went up to 10 innings when the Yankees were able to win it 12-11.  First they led 1-0, then we led 3-1, then they led 4-3, then they added to their lead, then we took the lead 8-6 (or something - I fell asleep during this time!) when I woke up - they were leading 11-8.  We scored three to make it very interesting... 11-11.  This is how it went into extra innings (yet AGAIN).  My friend was so disgusted with his team, we were supposed to go and eat dinner, but no he had to wait until the game was finished before we could go.  So fortunately for him, his team won 12-11 at the bottom of the 10th.

Today should be another interesting one - however we might not be WATCHING it - as we'll be in New York City.  But tomorrow night's game - we're gonna be THERE!  Game 4 in the series.

Time to go!

'til next time!

Trying my best...

I'm going to try my best to catch you all up on how I'm doing, but I can predict that this post won't be too long because every time I hit backspace on this laptop, it keeps going "home" meaning, back to the beginning of the sentence.  This is not my laptop I'm posting on, mind you, I'm at a friend's house dog-sitting, so... I'm not exactly used to this laptop.  It's a nice one though!

So - like I said, I'm dog-sitting this week.  Earning extra money for my trip to New Jersey next weekend.  Blue Jays AT Yankee Stadium, here I come!

Okay - let's see, how far back do I need to go?  Actually to be quite frank, there's really not much to share - just the same old day in, day out type of life.  Work, home, work, home.  I actually try to make time for friends in between, but it's just tough with the hours that I work.  I'm not one of those who work the typical 8-5 job.  I'm something that you may call a 10-7'er.  Don't get me wrong, I like those hours, I get to sleep in a little bit in the morning, take my time, have my usual morning routine, then work til 7 then eat - it's a perfect schedule for me.

Oh yeah, my parents were here the third week of August - it was a last minute trip that they made, instead of the planned vacation in October that they were intending to take.  Things happened, the wheel turned, and things worked out the way they did, they came down in August when it was incredibly hot, but my mother made it, she survived a week in Florida in August (when it's supposed to be the worst).  Took them to where I worked (had to brag about that nice view we had from the office), took them to the beach, took them places where they wanted to go, in general I just took them around my new hometown (not actually new-new, but 5 months new, kind of).

In about 3 weeks I'll be here 6 months, and in general once you've lived in a certain place more than six months you're a permanent resident there.  Soon I'll be a permanent Floridian - who would have thunk it?  Me, Florida?  Of course, 5 years ago, I was saying the same thing about South Dakota.

I guess I'm not exactly catching you all up, just rambling on and on here.  This should be another one of those Juneisms, but then again, like I promised, I'm trying my best to catch ya all up!

Til next time!
